In compliance with the Liquor Control Act, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division (ABC) issues, transfers, and revokes liquor licenses. We also administer the Alcohol Server Training Program, educating licensees and servers to prevent the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated persons.
On July 1, 2020, we began regulating the newly established Tobacco Product Act to ensure that establishments and employees are selling tobacco and tobacco products in compliance with the new law and preventing the sale of these items to New Mexicans under the age of 21.
Our primary responsibility is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all New Mexicans and those visiting our state, while regulating sale, service, and public consumption of alcohol and tobacco and/or tobacco products.
Starting August 1, 2024, ABC will no longer accept paper applications. All applications will need to be submitted online through NM-PLUS.
